Family Home for Nature Lovers - Cluj, Romania

A Warm Minimalist Family Home in Harmony with Nature

The core idea behind this home's design was to prioritize a seamless connection to the outdoors at every opportunity. The clients wanted the home to feel as open and interconnected with nature as possible. Each space, from the living areas to the bedrooms, extends directly onto a terrace or private outdoor lounge, ensuring that no matter where you are in the house, the outside world is always just a step away.

The expansive use of glass, framed by light wood, further emphasizes this fluid indoor-outdoor connection, allowing natural light to flood the interiors while offering unobstructed views of the surrounding environment. The layout was carefully planned so that each functional area—whether it be the dining room, living room, or even the private study/library—opens onto its own outdoor area, whether it's a small terrace for morning coffee or a larger lounge space for relaxation.
The clients were also committed to using natural materials throughout the home, reinforcing the connection to nature and promoting a sense of warmth and authenticity. The design prioritizes the use of textures and finishes that feel rooted in the environment.
The central volume features a textured white stucco finish, while the two flanking structures are clad in light, warm ledgestone, creating a harmonious contrast. Light wood framed windows, complemented by wood detailing between the two-floor windows, enhance the home's refined yet natural character.

The intention was clear: to integrate nature into daily life as much as possible, creating an environment where the family feels constantly immersed in their natural surroundings, enhancing their sense of well-being and connection to the world around them.
The compact yet highly functional layout is meticulously planned to ensure comfort, practicality, and an enriching spatial experience.
